You mobile phone can determine your geographical position using GPS (Global Positioning System). The information about your position is used by a number of applications on you mobile phone, such as navigation, the search function and the weather forecast.
1. Find "Location access"
Press Settings.
Press Security & privacy.
Press Location access.
2. Activate or deactivate GPS
Press the indicator next to "Access my location" to activate or deactivate the function.
3. Select positioning method
Press Google Location Accuracy.
Press the indicator next to "Improve Location Accuracy" to activate the function. If you turn on the function, your mobile phone can find your exact position using the GPS satellites, the mobile network and nearby WLANs. Satellite-based GPS requires a clear view of the sky.
Press the indicator next to "Improve Location Accuracy" to deactivate the function. If you turn off the function, your mobile phone can find your exact position but it may take longer as there is no access to supplementary information from the mobile network or nearby WLANs.
4. Return to the Home screen
Slide your finger upwards starting from the bottom of the display to return to the Home screen.
