Set up your mobile phone for iMessaging
Your messages can be sent as either regular SMS or iMessages. iMessages can be sent to phone numbers or e-mail addresses if the recipient has a device supporting iMessages. Remember, you need to activate your Apple ID.
1. Find "Messages"
Press Settings.
Press Messages.
2. Activate iMessages
Press the indicator next to "iMessage" until the function is activated.
3. Activate or deactivate read reply
Press the indicator next to "Send Read Receipts" to activate or deactivate the function.
If you activate Send Read Receipts, the sender is notified when you have read an iMessage.
4. Activate or deactivate SMS alternative
Press the indicator next to "Send as SMS" to activate or deactivate the function.
If you activate Send as SMS, iMessages will be sent as regular SMS if the service is unavailable.
5. Add e-mail address
Press Send & Receive.
You can key in an e-mail address which others can send iMessages to.
Remember, you need an Apple ID. If you don't have an Apple ID, you can create one at www.apple.com.

If you've not yet logged on with your Apple ID:
Press Use your Apple ID for iMessage.
Press Use your Apple ID for iMessage.

Follow the instructions on the display to log on.
Press Add Another Email....

Key in the required e-mail address and press return.

Press Messages to go back to the settings.

6. Return to the Home screen
Press the Home key to end the session and return to the Home screen.
