Restore the factory default settings

If your mobile phone is slow or in any other way doesn't work or respond as well as it should, it may help to restore the factory default settings. This deletes all configurations you've made in your mobile phone.

Press Settings.

Press General.

Step 3 of 11

Press Reset.

Step 4 of 11

If you select Reset All Settings, all phone settings are restored but contacts, audio files, video clips and appointments aren't affected.

Press Reset All Settings.

Step 6 of 11

Press Reset All Settings to confirm.

Step 7 of 11

If you select Erase All Content and Settings, settings, contacts, audio files, video clips and appointments are deleted.

Press Erase Now.

Press Erase iPhone.

Key in the password for your Apple ID and press Erase. Wait a moment while the factory default settings are restored. Follow the instructions on the display to set up your mobile phone and prepare it for use.

1. Find "Reset"

Press Settings.
Press General.
Press Reset.

2. Restore settings only

If you select Reset All Settings, all phone settings are restored but contacts, audio files, video clips and appointments aren't affected.
Press Reset All Settings.
Press Reset All Settings to confirm.

3. Restore settings and data

If you select Erase All Content and Settings, settings, contacts, audio files, video clips and appointments are deleted.
Press Erase Now.
Press Erase iPhone.
Press Erase iPhone.
Key in the password for your Apple ID and press Erase. Wait a moment while the factory default settings are restored. Follow the instructions on the display to set up your mobile phone and prepare it for use.
