How to activate or deactivate GPS

You mobile phone can determine your geographical position using GPS (Global Positioning System). The information about your position is used by a number of applications on you mobile phone, such as navigation, the search function and the weather forecast.


Find " Location"

  • Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your mobile phone.
  • Press the settings icon.
  • Press Location.


Activate or deactivate GPS

  • Press the indicator next to "Location" to activate or deactivate the function.
  • If you activate the function:
  • Press Agree.
  • Press Mode.
  • Proceed to step 3.
  • If you deactivate the function:
  • Proceed to step 5.


Select option

  • Select one of the following options:
  • Activate satellite-based and network-based GPS, go to 3a.
  • Activate network-based GPS, go to 3b.
  • Activate satellite-based GPS, go to 3c.

3a - Activate satellite-based and network-based GPS

  • Press High accuracy.
If you activate satellite-based and network-based GPS, your mobile phone can find your position quickly and with the highest accuracy.

3b - Activate network-based GPS

  • Press Power saving.
If you activate wireless networks, your mobile phone can find your approximate position using the network. This is useful if you don't have a GPS satellite fix.

3c - Activate satellite-based GPS

  • Press GPS only.
If you activate satellite-based GPS, your mobile phone can find your exact position. Satellite-based GPS requires a clear view of the sky.


Save setting

  • Press the Return key.


Return to the Home screen

  • Press the Home key to end the session and return to the Home screen.
