How to set up a Google account on your mobile phone

A Google account gives you access to several services on your mobile phone such as Gmail, Google Play and Google+. If you don't have a Google account, you can set one up and activate it on your mobile phone. Remember, first you need to set up your mobile phone for Internet.

1.

Find " Accounts & sync"

  • Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your mobile phone.
  • Press the settings icon.
  • Press Accounts & sync.

Start setup

  • Press the add account icon.
  • Press Google.
  • Press New.

Enter your name

  • Key in your first name.
  • Press Last and key in your last name.
  • Press arrow right.

Enter e-mail address

  • Key in the required e-mail address.
  • Press arrow right.

5.

Enter the password

  • Key in the required password.
  • Press Re-type password and key in the password again.
  • Press arrow right.

6.

Select security question

  • Press Choose a security question.
  • Press the required question.
  • Press Answer and key in the required answer.
  • Press Recovery email address and key in the required e-mail address.
  • Press arrow right.

7.

Activate or deactivate Google+

  • To activate Google+:
  • Press Join Google+.
  • To deactivate Google+:
  • Press Not now.

8.

Accept the terms and conditions

  • Press arrow right to accept the terms and conditions.

9.

Enter security text

  • Key in the letters displayed and press arrow right.
  • Follow the instructions on the display to finish the setup of your Google account.

10.

Return to the Home screen

  • Press the Home key to end the session and return to the Home screen.
